What I've Been Up To...

I know I haven't been posting or painting as much as I usually do. Let me just say that it has been extraordinarily busy at the Mansfield house. We are making up for lost time while we were sick! I have been being a mom!

Carter just finished up his Upward Basketball season with a season high (for him!) 10 points. This is his first year to play basketball and I am so proud of him. We are already starting baseball practice. It is always something!

Lauren recently participated i her favorite things in the whole wide world - a pageant! This girls loves everything about pageants, from dress shopping to make up to the giggly girls backstage. The Snow Princess Pageant was so smoothly ran and she had a ball!

Speaking of giggly girls! Here is Lauren with her "BFF's" Lilly and Molly.


I am so excited that Lauren was called back in the top ten out of 38 girls. I was beside myself when she was named 4th runner up. She's never won anything before and was so happy. She felt like a real princess!

Show Us Your Life - What Do You Make

I totally forgot that I added my link to the Kelly's Korner "Show us Your Life" series late last night. I am just now getting around to posting something special for you all. I always love linking up and looking at all of the new blogs. I also get lots of nice comments and have already gotten two orders this morning alone! Yay!

I've got several new things on the table, but they aren't ready the share yet. I decided instead to post a few old favorites of mine to give any new visitors an idea of what it is that I make. I love to match things and look at how exact this canvases match the mat. Love it!

I am thrilled anytime I am asked to use Bible verses, prayers, or song lyrics.

Bright colors and flowers are always so fun to paint! With spring around the corner, I will be breaking out all of those happy shades of paint. This was the first time I used lime as a background color. I think it turned out so well!

Baby nurseries and children's rooms are probably my favorite thing to paint. I love the idea of the little ones waking up and going to sleep under one of my paintings. I so appreciate all of the parents who take the time to order from me.


Weddings and anniversaries are a close second! I do a lot of family names and monograms, sometimes with an established date and sometimes without. Celebrating a marriage and a family are so important. I am happy to be a small part of that.

Volleyball

A custom gift for a special girl who loves her volleyball! I was a volleyball player in high school. Thank goodness I don't have a picture to go with that statement. I don't know how I played with hair that big!
Painting the volleyball was harder than I thought it would be. All of those stripes and shading have to line up just right. I do love her navy, lime, and white color choices. The lettering is also so cute. I hate that the picture didn't turn out a little better.

Getting Ready For Easter!

Hard to believe, but spring and Easter are just around the corner! It really be here before we know it. I just took these two super cute egg shaped canvases to Et Cetera. Both are already lettered, but I will be happy to add personalization at no extra cost.

I love the pastels! There is a tone on tone pattern in each of the stripes as well. These are about 11x14, but obviously oval. I think one would be perfect for your front door, either on it's own or in a wreath.

Fresh Weather...Fresh Door

I got a new welcome mat for front porch. You know what that means...new canvas for the door!

I have one 12x12 canvas that I just keep painting over. There is no telling how many coats of paint are on this thing. I would never do that for you guys, but this one is just for me!

I thought the diamonds were pretty cute! They needed a little something so I added the tiny taupe dots. Perfect!

I've been sprucing things up a bit and enjoying the weather. Someone else is loving the sun, too!

Family Rules In Red

LeAnn Hillis was another lucky giveaway winner! She chose the "Family Rules" canvas in red. Actually, she tells me that her kitchen is done in Coca-Cola...how cute!

Of course, I used red to match her theme, but I also worked in plenty of black, white, and shades of brown.

This is an 8x24 and can be custom ordered in your color scheme for $30.00.

I also made up one more while I was at it! This is a little different size (10x20) and also costs $30.00. It is currently available at Et Cetera.

Romance Is In The Air

Jamye Jaco ordered this 8x24 canvas for her home. I love the black and white with the red. The little touch of color is so pretty! I've been getting ready for Valentine's Day here at our house so I am loving that wide red satin ribbon, too.

Lauren's Valentines came in the mail this week from Miss Wendy at My Duck Duck Goose. She has the cutest personalized things...I can't get enough! She even made the fairy with blond hair and green eyes to match Lauren! Carter just wanted "Phinneas and Ferb". He doesn't let me do this cutesy stuff for him anymore.

Blog Makeover

The blog fairy (a.k.a Jennisa) came last night and gave me this fab new look! I get a "blog makeover" once a year. I look at the blog so much and just need a change of pace from time to time.

I wanted something a little vintage-y and scrapbook-y (if those are words!). Even though this is a business, I still think of it as a scrapbook and love to look back through it. I also wanted a new color. I've never used red as a major color on the blog. I did want to keep the touch of aqua that I love!

Jennisa just read my mind and was so easy to work with! She even fixed me up with these four rotating headers. Every time you visit, you get to see new pictures. You can hit refresh to get the idea! I did! Jennisa's button is over on the sidebar if you'd like to see more of her work.

Family Rules

I've been working on a new color combination for the "family rules" canvas design. Click here to see the original green. I've also reworked the design to fit two new sizes. The above pictures a 10x20 ($30) and a 4x12 ($25). Both of these are so cute and currently available at Et Cetera.

This one is on the original 8x24 size. It was especially painted for one of my giveaway winners, Ashley Newport. I love the colors she requested. It is so bright and cheery!

Here's a close up. I love this design because it incorporates scripture, but also because of all the little details. The lettering, stars, hearts, flowers, and highlights all work together so well.

I'm currently working on a red color combination...check back soon!

It's Not Easy Being Green

Today I've got two really pretty 4x12 canvases to show you. Both are one of my all time favorite colors - green - and both were ordered by mothers for their daughters. One daughter has a beach themed room in sage, khaki, and peach. The other daughter writes poetry and music. I think both of these will fit to a tee!

I've also got two (yes, two!) sick kids. You all know that Lauren just recovered from N1H1. We sent her back to school last week and apparently she has caught the other strain of the flu (type B). She also brought it home and shared it with her brother. My sweet, sweet husband took them both to walk-ins yesterday and I am home with them today.

More Christmas Gifts

Yes, I am still posting Christmas gifts! I had to hold the pictures until after the holidays, then January was all filled up with giveaways, and now here we are. All four of these 8x10's were ordered as gifts. The colors were specified, but most of the design was left up to me.

I tried to give each one it's own little personality!

For Conner

Here's Danielle Smith's other Christmas order...a Ninja Turtle! Her son, Conner, loves those turtles, but Leonardo is his favorite. She wanted an 11x14 for his newly decorated room. I think it turned out really cute! Thank you again, Danielle!

Smith Family Crest

The inspiration was this framed print of the Smith family crest. It is mostly navy blue and silver with some little touches of gold and red. Danielle Smith ordered three as gifts for some special guys in her family.

The close up...there was so much detail in such a small place. These really were a challenge, but I enjoyed it.

More Monograms

I usually do these monograms with black lettering over the top. This time brown was requested. I love the way it looks...a bit softer or something. They look so pretty with the wide satin ribbon, too.
