Okay, I've done this quote about 50 bajillion times! It's always in a combination of pastels. This is the first time I've been asked to do it in black and gold. I was a little unsure about the gold, but I tested several metallic gold paints and found one I liked.
The crown is in the same gold paint just with a little white mixed in. I just think it turned out so pretty! We're big Vanderbilt fans, so it makes me think of that! I would love to see the room or nursery that this piece was designed to match!

Our school got it's own SRO Officer! Abel is so nice and great with the kids. I love having him there! My principal and instructional coordinator ordered a canvas for his new office. A custom canvas is a great idea for a "welcome to school" gift!
I did it in our school colors of red, black, and white. I also kept the frills to a minimum since it is for a man! I even added a loop of ribbon instead of a bow.
This 4x12 just shipped out to Florida. Hot pink and orange music notes were requested with the lettering in the black dottie font. I used some cute mesh ribbon. Love it!
Don't forget your teachers this holiday season! It's not too early to order them a custom canvas either for school or home. Just email me your order: firstname.lastname@example.org!

Cheryl Hyland received one of my canvases for her first son as a gift. She contacted me to do another one for her new baby, too! I love it!
The nursery's walls are beige and the bedding is a pretty combination of brown, beige, burnt oranges, and a soft teal color. I chose to keep it simple. This piece will compliment the bedding now but can be used with lots of other decor, too!

Has it really been almost a month since I last blogged? Wow! We've been so busy with school, dance, ball, and well, just life, that the time is literally flying by. We slowed down a bit to take a family trip during fall break. We went to the same place we've gone to for about eight years, but we tried some new things!
We love Perdido Key, Florida because it is quiet and laid back. If you are looking for tons of things to do and lots of people, then this is not the place for you. We just chill at the pool or beach all day, go out to eat at a non-chain restaurant, and back to our beach house. Yep. The Mansfields live large!
This year we went kayaking! We rented these two for three hours and spent the time traveling to the small islands in the bay. We love exploring the sandbars and found all kinds of interesting sea life. Both of the kids said this was their favorite part of the trip! We used Perdido Key Waterpsorts and Autumn was very nice and helpful!
Our son went deep sea fishing with his grandpa, but my husband and I took our daughter to the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo. It's a small zoo but it's clean and has lots of hands on experiences. We loved the reptile and lemur encounters!
The Purple Parrot Resort is our place to stay. They have a beautiful lagoon style pool surrounded by pastel houses. We all love having the whole house and our own rooms. I'm hoping that we can continue this family tradition for many more years to come!
