Family Tree

I've been dabbling in watercolors a bit and came up with this beautiful family tree design.   I did this one for my family but want to offer this custom design up for you all, too!
This is archival watercolor paint on a high quality, thick watercolor paper with pen and ink detailing.  The leaves are actually cut out of another piece of watercolor paper that I painted green and then attached.  It gives a nice dimensional effect.  I think this would make a wonderful wedding, Valentine, anniversary or new baby gift.

I am taking custom orders if you would like your own family tree.  This size can accommodate up to six leaves.  The finished product is 8x10 and arrives suitable for framing.  The cost is $25.00 plus shipping if needed.  Email me at brandie_bc1@yahoo.com for more information or to inquire about other sizes.

Sneak Peeks

I've got two new designs on my table right now.  I am loving both of them!  My friend, Autumn Wanamaker, asked for a large drown for her daughter's room.  All I can say right now is that this one is 28x22.  Here's the "in progress" peek...I can't share the finished project!

This is a set of rustic pine cones that will eventually include the family name and also be distressed.  I've never painted a pine cone before!  This is for one of my favorite photographers, Shelly Miller, to put in her new log cabin.  Can't wait!!!

How pretty is this one?  This 12x24 canvas features large pink on pink dots at the top and cream and khaki stripes on the bottom.  It was requested to use a little hunter green.  I added that in the detailing between the two areas.

When I paint this design, I usually use a fancy cursive font.  It was also requested to do the name in print.  I wasn't too sure about that to be honest.  Turns out, I just love the print on there!  I might even like it better!

We had a snow day here in middle Tennessee.  Snow days mean "catch up art" days for me!  I was in the floor wrapping finished artwork for shipping.  Billie always loves the rolling and unrolling of paper, bubble wrap, and packing tape.  Aren't her little paws just the cutest things?  I completely understand why artists are known for keeping studio cats!

Gifts From the Heart

Gifts from the heart just mean so much  more.  I love giving gifts that I have made or when I've found that perfect something.  My sister, Emily, gave my mom an amazing birthday present in November.  She wrapped up a photo of her dog with a little chalkboard around his neck that said, "I'm going to be a big brother!"  She's expecting her first child in June...here's our reaction!

A newborn is a pretty amazing gift! If your family just got some exciting news like we did, there are cute birth announcements and unique baby shower invitations on Shutterfly.

I'm always thrilled when people order canvases and fun wall art as gifts for others.  I love the thought of happiness when one of my pieces of art is unwrapped.  I’ve done everything from business signs to handcrafted animal prints. This pale blue and chocolate  brown quote was ordered for a college student to hang in the dorm room.  I thought it was a lovely and important message.

I painted these wooden gingerbread men for my husband's two aunts.  Don't you just love the real button accents and the red twine?  They were so cute and I had one left over...a little gift to myself!

It's a tradition in my family to give my dad a custom calendar for his birthday.  It's on February 3rd, so I always start it with that month and cram it full with photos of his grandchildren.   I had planned for him to keep it in his office, but I know he takes with him on his business travels to show off the family a bit! It's absolutely adorable with a craft paper background and modern motifs for each month.  You'll love giving the grandparents this gift from the heart!!

Happy 2015! Have any of you given any fun gifts lately?
