St. Louis Trip 2014
It's become a family tradition for us to go to the NCAA basketball tournament over spring break. My husband has always loved basketball and was a coach for a long time. Now that my son is a player and loves the game, it just seemed like the thing to do. We love to travel and see new parts of the country, so it is a perfect fit!
Lauren and I don't attend the games. We provide taxi service and then go see the sights! We frequented several of St. Louis' malls. They've got great shopping and two brand new outlet malls in the Chesterfield area that were very nice. We spent an afternoon at the American Girl Place and ate lunch in the Bistro.
There weren't any games on Saturday so we spent a family day at the Magic House. It was the coolest hands on museum! Lauren absolutely loved the "Solve the Mystery" area.
We also really liked the Construction Site and the huge government area complete with an Oval Office. We had to make the kids leave!
Forest Park is amazing with tons of really neat (and free!) things to do. Our favorite was the zoo. It had a wide variety of animals and was very well maintained.
We had planned to visit the arch on our last day. We could see it from our hotel window and drove all around it while going to and from the games. It is breathtaking! However, I got food poisoning on the last day and it got really cold and started snowing. I hated to miss going up in that landmark, but what can you do? It was a great trip while it lasted and I would definitely love to go back!
