The Cat Days of Summer

I know it's supposed to be "dog days of summer", but the cats usually take much cuter pictures. D really took up with Addison's bedding. I had to hide it in the closet to keep him away from it. Cinco has commandeered the birdbath as his summertime perch. I am slipping into my end of summer/back to work depression. Don't get me wrong, I love my job and once I get going all will be fine. It's the getting back into the early morning rush, rush, rush routine after a slower paced couple of months that is hard for me and the kids.
The kids participated in the library's summer book club for the first time this year. Both of them read over twenty books, which I thought was impressive. The log sheet had space for thirty books. When I went to turn ours in at the end, the librarian asked me if this was their first log sheet. Apparently, some kids had filled up multiples. Yikes! All of a sudden, our twenty didn't seem quit so grand.
In an effort to read more myself, everytime I took them to the library to got books, too. Here is my reading list:

1. Anyone But You Jennifer Weiner
2. The Cat Who Said Cheese Lilian Jackson Braun
3. Deep Dish Mary Kay Andrews
4. The Cat Who Went to Breakfast Lilian Jackson Braun
5. Little Earthquakes Jennifer Weiner
6. The Cat Who Saw Stars Lilian Jackson Braun
7. Certain Girls Jennifer Weiner
8. Sleeping Arrangements Madeline Wickham
9. The Cat Who Went Up a Creek Lilian Jackson Braun
10. You Belong to Me Mary Higgins Clark
11. The Cat Who Could Read Backwards Lilian Jackson Braun
...and I'm still going!

As you can see, I've discovered the Lilian Jackson Braun Cat Who... series. They are about an eccentric man (Qwil) who lives in an eccentric little town 400 miles north of everywhere. He has two Siamese cats and they solve mysteries. I wanted something al little different from the women-centric things I usually read. This is more than I usually read and I have enjoyed it. I hope I make time to keep it up after school starts. Do I feel the brain cells growing?

Hey, just clicked over from SITS. I've always been curious about the Cat Who series, but I haven't read any yet. They sound good!

Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest!
So, do you feel your brain cells growing?! Lol!
