Family Tree

I painted this very sweet and simple family tree for one of my Nashville customers.  She requested this design, colors, and wording for her canvas.  I put it all together on this 16x20.  I just love it!  There's lots of colors mixed into that brown and those greens.  The highlighting always adds a little something extra!

Speaking of families, my husband and I recently celebrated 18 years of marriage.  I usually post about our anniversary trip.  We're so busy right now with the kids and work that we couldn't get away for a whole weekend.  The did go on a special date night to one of our favorite local restaurants, Maurizio's.  My parents kept the kids overnight, too!

Spring Flowers

I saw my first buttercups last weekend...and my allergies are all fired up...that means one things...spring has sprung!  Even with the allergies, it is still a beautiful time of the year.
My fourth grade class was asked to create some spring art for one of our local banks to hang in their lobby.  Flowers were the first thing that popped into my mind.  The kids and I liked them so much that I let them make some for my hallway bulletin board, too!  Don't they look great?

It's very simple to do.  You get three layers of paper towels and put a coffee filter on top.  Color the filter with regular markers - abstract designs and patterns work best.  You want to leave a little white space to get a blended effect.  Once it's all colored, just spray with water and watch the magic!  They dry very quickly.  Finally, glue onto white construction paper and add a stem.

I've got some really pretty flower canvases all painted and ready for personalization.  This 7x14 black chevron with the flower in shades of red is so pretty!  It would be perfect for a teacher or with a cute spring saying.

This 6x9 yellow polka dot canvas with big, bright daisies is also immediately available.  I can see this on the front door or even in a wreath!

Feeling Spring-ish?

The snow and ice has been crazy this year in Middle Tennessee.  We have a year's worth of weather conditions in one week!  I've loved the snow and am all about snuggling in on a cold night, but I'm ready for spring.  Bring on the sunshine and flowers!

It's hard to believe that Easter is right around the corner.  I've not gotten out the first decoration.  It's past time!  This carrot canvas would be so cute on the mantle.

I love the colors of this 4x4 canvas block.  It's not just for Easter, but all of spring and summer.  It needs a great big monogram right in the center!
If you need a little something for spring, too, just visit my etsy shop.  You can always place a custom order, but there's lots of "ready to ship" spring items.  No waiting!

It's nice to paint for the boys every now and again!  Paula Smith has two adorable boys who just got their rooms redone.  That happens as they start to grow up and their interests change.  Her older son, Tylan, has a beautiful patchwork quilt in shades of blue, green and tan.  He wanted a deer without his name on it.  This is going on a white door so I did the background in cream.  The cream matches his room decor better, too!  I added burlap twine for hanging.  This one's a little different but I love it!

Her younger son, Parker, chose navy and lime with a sports theme for his bedroom.  Paula wanted the soccer ball, basketball, bat, and baseball.  I did the navy border with lime accents and ribbon.
So cute!

Pink and Green

Pink and green is one of my favorite color combinations.  It was big in the 80's and I had a mostly pink room then...maybe that's why I like it!  It always looks so fresh and cheerful.  Stacey Clark ordered a pink and green canvas for classroom.  How welcoming is this?

It does feature pink and green but she also requested the light blue background, lilac chevron, and yellow trim.  I think this will be perfect in her tropical themed room!

The princess Bible verse canvas has been very popular lately.  I'm so happy to be painting bunches and bunches of these!  I do them in lots of colors, but the lime green dots and the pink crown is the original and still the favorite!

Celebrate Life's Events

A new baby?

A canvas makes the perfect new baby gift...either for your own baby or to give to someone special.  They also are so cute to put on an easel and use on the table during a shower.  I've done little 5x5's for the hospital, too!

Wedding or anniversary coming up?

These family name canvases are probably my most  popular item.  I can't think of a better wedding or anniversary gift.  They can be painted in wedding or home decor colors.  The canvases are also very light weight and easy to ship for those times when you can't be there.

Think about your year and all of the things that could be marked with a truly custom canvas!

Oh, this one is soooo pretty!  The background is a combination of pale pinks, creams, and tans.  There's a little French handwriting in there, too.

The large off center crown is in shades of tan with brown in the shadows and creams in the highlights.  There's lots of little details added to the crown for texture.  The crown and the background were also sanded for a vintage look.

The name is in a fancy, but not overwhelming, cursive in brown with lots of cream highlights.
This piece has a very tight color palette.  I am just in love with how it turned out.

A long time friend ordered this for her daughter's room.  We went back and forth several times on the size, and I can't remember what we finally settled on.  All I can say is that it is big!  It was a pleasure painting for you, Autumn and Lanie!
